Internet too slow !

Hi,

I currently have EE broadband and I am experiencing slow connections. When I had the orange livebox my speeds were fine and I could load everything e.g. youtube/facebook/google images. Orange gave me an upgrade to move to EE Broadband which I did and apparently I was going to get faster speeds and they charged me £5 extra.

Now when I got the internet, everything was fine for about 3 or 4 days after those days were gone this internet is a nightmare! I went onto bt speedtester and the website gave me the results that my downloading speed was 0.40mbps? everyday this is dropping, I cannot even buffer a 3minute youtube clip anymore? I mailed orange 3 times now and they just kept giving me the same response "please check your speed results and send them to us." Which I have done and they havent replied back. What is the problem!

I'm not on Orange/EE, so i dont know your router.

Try changing your Operation Mode from AUTOMATIC to ADSL/G992.1(G.DMT).
ADSL2+ maybe struggling to much on your long line and cant stabilise.

For what reason? Were you on an up to 8 Meg ADSL Max product before? If you were already on ADSL2+ there is no reason you should get faster speeds.

All your stats are good except:

Downstream 862 (Kbps.)

You should be getting 6.4 Meg Down Sync here. That's the reason for slow speedtests.

The usual reason users get slow syncs on EE is the Down NM being held too high but your NM of ~6dB is correct. So I can only think EE has you on a banded profile. Tell them to take you off it and let it free-wheel.

With my old orange livebox internet I used to get atleast 3mbps with this im getting less than 1mbps? I have already emailed orange 3 times now and all there reply is please check your speed results and send them back to us? which I have done 2 times now.

I remember when my old orange livebox internet started to decrease its speed to less than 1mbps and when I told orange about this they said we will send an engineer round. When the engineer came he was working outside and then said someone disconnected your line earlier which was causing you the problems. He connected it all back up and my speed went straight back upto 4-5mbps? I dont see what the cause of this problem could be. Im just really confused.

Hi, I find the EE Orange Bright Box wireless router a very good router, to select different ADSL modes for your connection go� Advanced Set-Up > Accept > ADSL Mode.

You haven't answered my Qs: Why was you upgrade supposed to give you faster speeds and what package were you on before?

Sorry i didn't see your question, My internet was supposed to be getting higher speeds because I changed the package to go to fibre which I wasn't on before and I heard it was supposed 2 be a lot better. I have changed the setting from my ip address to ADSL2+ which hasnt really helped. Im going to be sending another email out to orange.

I have done this step and it hasnt seemed to help at all.
