But your BrightBox is not on Fibre; it's on ADSL!

Do you have an Openreach modem nr. the phone socket and an Ethernet cable joining that to the BrightBox? Did an OR engineer install it? Doesn't sound like he has set it up fully.

I don't know what supposed to happen when you have a router set to ADSL on a Fibre connection. I would have thought it would be remotely set up by EE. Failing that you need to set it to Fibre/Ethernet manually.

If you are going to fibre, then that requires an engineer to deliver the Openreach modem.

The Fibre services take several weeks to go live from ordering to delivery, even if you are a customer of the ISP.

Advanced Settings / Accept/ Broadband Settings/ adsl mode

but doubt it will help.

You haven't answered my Qs: Why was you upgrade supposed to give you faster speeds and what package were you on before?

Sorry i didn't see your question, My internet was supposed to be getting higher speeds because I changed the package to go to fibre which I wasn't on before and I heard it was supposed 2 be a lot better. I have changed the setting from my ip address to ADSL2+ which hasnt really helped. Im going to be sending another email out to orange.

Sorry but did you change it to ADSL or ADSL2+ ?
It was already on ADSL2+ according to your first post.

It will not make any difference if you change your Bright Box router ADSL mode, set the ADSL operation mode back to Automatic.

Downstream Connection Speed (Kbps.) 862
Downstream Attenuation(dB) 47
Downstream Noise Margin/SNR (dB) 5.6

Your connection has problems estimated based on your current ADSL2+ service, normal speed range at 47dB attenuation is 4500 Kbps to 7500 Kbps frown

Are you on a long telephone line? Find your distance from your telephone exchange, after you click search select Locality the distance is given to you in metres.

Please explain why you believe there will be no difference using ADSL vs ADSL2+ on a long line ?

my bad that was my mistake, i got confused with other broadbands as I was looking to change again. You are correct it is on ADSL and I had to setup the router myself.

Was wrong, my internet is on ADSL. I bought this new router as an upgrade and orange said we would be recieving 60minutes to any network and some other bundle aswell.
Dont get me wrong, this internet was really great when it was actually set-up and working properly like it should but now I don't even get 1mbps

I went onto the website to check the details and I got this, Your Estimated connection speed using ADSL mode (maximum 8 Mbps)

Bad
Normal speed range at 47dB attenuation is 3600Kbps to 5140Kbps

Below is an estimate of the speed based around your
current sync speed and the supplied noise nargin.
Target Margin Estimate
9dB 622
6dB 622
3dB 622

Does having 3 phone lines in the house affect the speed by any chance? I have one connected to the main socket near my computer. another connected underneath the stairs and another in my room. Does this affect the speed?

It was set to automatic for some reason but in my first post I gave the details my router gave to me. When it was set to automatic I changed it to ADSL2+ which didn't help.

The phone connected to my router is right next to my router and the main socket. About 1metre.
I also went onto the second website and this tells me I am 2.32km away from the exchange.
