Ok I've been chugging along on my 0.5mb line with a Netgear DG834 for the last 6 years and Wimax may be possible at my house. The sales guy told me I would need a cable modem to connect as the adsl one would be no good.
Haven't looked at these before so advice is needed before the install in a couple of weeks time.
I've been told it will be a line of sight mast and the cable drilled through the wall to a computer. Rather than this I was hoping to use a hole already drilled for sky into under eaves storage where there is power and its fairly central in my home. This would be a good point for wireless too.
Now to the point, can anyone recommend a modem/router that will do the job. I'm in the country so no conflicts with other wifi and the product will be a 50/10mb service. I have two computers that are currently connected wirelessly and serveral phones and ipad/pods used by the family. I may even be able to use various ondemand products in this brave new world.
