Cat5e Cable on Cat6 faceplate will this work?

Hi all quick question will cat5e cable work on a Cat6 faceplate if so does any 1 have some wiring diagrams? The reason I ask is I have several cables that come into the kitchen some of the RJ45 connector clips have broken and the cables are a mix of Cat5e and Cat6 the majority being Cat6 I have brought a 4 port Cat6 faceplate but wanted to know if the cat5e ones will also work.

Cannot see a problem with them although Cat5e tends to be 24AWG and occasionally 26AWG whereas Cat6 is predominantly 23AWG with some 24AWG so you will need to ensure a decent tool is used and the cable inserted fully.

Wiring is socket dependent - I have seen several different version of where each pin is on the IDC strips.

thanks for the advice took the plunge or a spare bit of cat5e cable its working perfect getting full 1Gbps and speed tests are good now to screw the back box to the wall and cut the RJ45 connects off and wire the Cat5e and Cat6 cables to the faceplate

2 cables connected another 2 to go all working great
