Hi
This is a new problem I have and am not sure how to proceed. I have Window 8.1 installed and an Ethernet connection from my fibre router to my PC. (My smart TV access's the router also) .

When starting the PC I have no internet connection for around three minutes whilst the Networks are being located ?? Please see image link which explains. All I used to have is "Network 3 - Internet Access" - now I also have "Unidentified Network - No internet access" shown in the system tray. Any ideas how to resolve this issue?

Why so many different LAN connections?
Can you see the routers web interface at all e.g. http://192.168.0.1 (your router may be on a different IP)
What IP address is the router assigning to the PC?

Yes I can access the router: Is this the information you requested?
TCP/IP Settings
IP Address: 80.189.x.x/32
Default Gateway: 195.166.130.138
Primary DNS: 212.159.6.10
Secondary DNS: 212.159.6.9

Is that really the settings in the PC LAN Interface?

Do you mean the 'Network & Sharing Center' ?? (I looked at the router page)
I'm sure I should not have all these connections!

Is it possible in Windows 8 to reset the connections? All I'm after is under Network 3, my PC to the Ethernet and to allow my TV to see my TV (which I don't think is listed as a connection anyway.) I don't understand where or how all these LAN connections are being identified.

That screenshot shows Connection 3 has internet access and the others might be down to VPN type software. Searches suggesting part of OpenVPN and other software.

Still unsure really what to do. I had TorGuard installed sometime ago, but it is uninstalled and there no registry entries. The problem seems to be under 'Device Name' in Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections. Listed are TAP Win32 entries that are 'discovered' on boot up which is slowing down my Network connection. Can TAP Win32 be installed, if so how and does it impact anything else?? NB: I really am a novice on this subject, so can you provide a clear explanation?

Solved!! I went to Device Manager & uninstalled all TAP Win32 entries which were related to the VPN software I previously had installed.
