For the first time since setting up my wired gigabit home network, I did a speed test, using Totusoft LAN Speed Test between a Windows 10 PC running the test server and a MACBook Air and got the following test results:
Write Speed Read Speed
----------------- -----------------
675.3315920 Mbps 7,499.3072480 Mbps
703.4103040 Mbps 13,093.4534800 Mbps
700.4839760 Mbps 12,890.1672640 Mbps
The first result was using a 20MB test data size, the last two with a 1024MB data size. Do the above figures seem about right for a cat5e wired ethernet network?
I'm wondering why there's the variation between the first result and the other two.
