Hi can anyone advise please
Ive just changed from copper broadband to FTTC however with router plugged in to master socket via a ADSL filter ican get 22 mb with extension wiring connected it drops to 12

Ok so logic says extension cable is u/s but same happens with 52 ft of new cable laid across the floor and with only one of the 3 wires connected.

ie with any extension wiring connected be it 1-2 or 3 wires im at a loss to understand the problem.

master socket is a net5 cable is bt cw1308

with only one of the 3 wires connected.

Try again....Blue to 2 blue/white to 5
Nothing else connected

PS is u/s an abbreviation of useless?

Sounds like one of the wires is not connected correctly. Ensure terminal 2 and 5 are really securely in place and punched down really well. Do not connect bell wire, terminal 3.

Ideally just use the master socket, if you had an engineer install they would have made the master socket the fibre connection and installed a filtered faceplate, preventing you from using the extension.

HAVE DOUBLE CHECKED AND ITS STILL THE SAME

U/S = USELESS

Take some photos (upload them somewhere and link to them) of the wiring, have you got a filtered face plate.or are you using the dangly filter.

It will be the same if you do not use a filtered face plate and use the VDSL output to the extension.

Also what sort of new cable is being used for the extension.
