Whilst I was training with the Royal Signals we had a rack room, where a signal would come in, be encrypted and would go out again, and in the room next door, vice versa would happen!
Because everything was wired to everything, we had a false floor where all the wires would disappear, you know the type of thing.
It was a secure room, obviously, so some bright Corporal had the idea of putting half a dozen demijohns of red wine to brew under the floor! Those that remember, the summer of '76 was a tad warm anyway!!!
You have guessed the consequences, 1 x Corporal busted and posted to RMP Colchester Garrison, the army prison, now called "Military Corrective Training Centre, Colchester".
The sheer scale of damage from the sticky bright pink froth, goo, everything that came up forth from the grills in the floor had to be seen to be believed !!!
Sorry about that, I know it's the wrong forum, just burst into my head, but just picture it and chuckle!
