UniFi Patch Cable

I'm looking at buying some of these UniFi Patch Cable

Can anyone help me by confirming if the available lengths include the RJ45 connectors or just the cable length.

Sorry probably a really dumb question but that shows my knowledge in this area.

Their stated length is *not* inclusive of connectors.

So a 30cm cable is actually closer to 42.5cm from tip to tip. The RJ45 connector and mouldable boot is approx. 60mm in length.

Just to confirm @Pheasants comments. 42.5cm tip to tip. Between Boot Ends 30.5cm and on a 0.1m it is 10.5cm

However if you go for some of the other UI cables, I have found the measurement is "tip to tip" - rather annoyingly.

I personally have quite a few of those cables in use and find them to be excellent

They are great cables, I agree. Been slowly moving over to them. Only measured one of the "30cm" leads I had on my desk - presumably a popular patching length.

The other various lengths of UI bendable/mouldable leads are in my patch lead kit, 90 miles away, so can't easily measure them until I'm there on Monday. How inconsistent of UI to measure some as 'tip to tip' and others not counting the boot lengths. I presume this is because they come from different factories in the far east or UI ate happy to slap on a 'nominal' length.

Thanks, I'm really glad you and Pheasant answered this question as I was originally going to order the 0.3m for my patch panel but can now get away with using the 0.1m. I currently have some very stiff Cat 6a leads from Kenable but in recent times they have become unreliable. My switches are only 1Gb so evening if I upgrade them to 2.5Gb at some point these new patch leads will still be good enough.

I needed some short, nominally 150mm connections and the Etherlighting range has a 150mm and I "made" a cable with 150 between boot ends with a standard connector and boot it fitted well - all neat and tidy. Odered the Etherlightling cable and went to fit - too short! Measured tip to tip.

I did raise th issue - but no response. Customer suport responsiveness is one are UI is lacking.

I have just measured a 0.1m 106mm between boot ends and 227mm tip to tip


I have a switch with some PoE injectors mounted below. Measuing between centre tines of RJ45s on Switch and Injectors is around 110mm and up to 40mm left to right - vertically it could even go up to 125mm or a little more. The 0.1m cables are fine with the boots appropriatey bent.
