Broadband through Sky Dish?

A work colleague told me recently that he receives his broadband through Sky and that it "comes through" his Sky dish. I'd never heard of this before so was wondering if anyone has any details/opinions before I sell my soul to Uncle Rupert and go for the upgrade to HD/Broadband/Phone with Sky.
I've done a quick search in the forum and can't see any info on this, but if I've missed something please feel free to tell me I'm an idiot and point me in the right direction

That's what I thought, couldn't understand what he was talking about?!?!! So in other words, I'm going to get no better service speedwise from Sky than I do now with BT (approx 2-3mb). The only difference will be the price, and a nice picture on my TV when I order the HD Box!

hi yes you can or could get a downstream link via sky but youre out going had to go via a phone line or somthing as u cant send up to the satillite a have a hauppage win tv nova-s pci card that can be set up for it u have to subscribe to as service thought!

Which isn't from Sky but there are broadband Satellite providers out there.

Fixed line much better... especially if its raining hard !?
