BEWARE, caller claiming to be from Microsoft

Half an hour ago, I had a telephone call from a foreign sounding man, claiming to be from Microsoft and he would sort out my problems. Politely I told him my computer was fine and to go away.

I posted this elsewhere and within minutes someone told me their mum had been scammed and gave me this link.

We're seeing a similar thing and mailed all of our customers.

They've done the rounds before but appears the scammers have geared up their operations again.

l got a call 5 minutes ago, from an indian claiming to be from microsoft. That my computer has a virus. l hung up. Had a call from them a couple of days ago saying the same thing.

I had exactly the same ty7pe of call yesterday 21st Feb 2011. Hen put the phoner down when I told him that I was runnimng a scan. PLEASE IGNORE HIM/HER.
