I moved from UK Online LLU to O2 LLU a couple of months ago and it was no different to moving between BT Wholesale ISPs apart from a short period of downtime but probably less than half an hour.

Regards,
Steve

Fair enough, so it seems better than it used to be on partly unbundled connections, but I bet it is still a pain on fully unbundled connections.

We will see what happens in the next few months, I got to sort things out here anyway, then think about broadband and what I am going to do.

i am still surprised that BT did not offer me more than a fiver off my broadband considering that we got Talk Talk and Orange here which both offers cheap broadband and phone. i know i would never got with Talk Talk, but they don't know that, maybe if they phone i will tell them that Talk Talk and Orange is a lot cheaper.

you never know, it may move them.

I think he may mean Sky full LLU to O2, which is not as simple.

Matt

I did mean any, it used to be a right pain to move even from unbundled to Bt it was a pain, I remember someone who was put onto a plusent LLU service as they started to use Tiscali network, it took them ages to get back onto Bt and then they had to stay for 12 months, whihc they did not want to.

Fully LLU I think would still be a pain.

everything needs to be easier, get rid of stupid long contracts or just stop BT hogging the phone lines.

There were lots of issues at that early stage IIRC as BTW had forgotten (?) to implement a MAC procedure for partial LLU.

They did the same thing when they rolled out the first WBC to Entanet. There was no (working?) MAC process. They moved them to WBC with bulk migration orders (which don't really need a MAC) and had no mechanism for bringing them back.

As far as I've been able to follow on the forums the migration to partial LLU is pretty painless these days. As with normal migrations the main faults are a result of engineer error in the exchange or router+firmware incompatibility. These are per line as opposed to systematic failings.

if I ever decided to get a T.v licence again i think BTV would be right up my street, watch what I like when i like.

Slightly off topic but.... You only need a TV licence to watch live telly. Catch up services like iPlayer, 4oD, etc you don't need one for wink

Ok where I am at the moment, no contract to worry about, so I can move if I want to.

I know, but the only way you can watch them is via a computer, apart from the BBC Iplayer, which can be watched via the Wii or PS3.

Saying that legaly you can use BT vision without a licence, you just don''t use the Freeview part.
