Lit Fibre or Lightspeed

[link to this post]

Hi All,
I've got two isp's adding FTTP to my area, Lit Fibre and Lightspeed broadband, anyone else on here use either of their service?
I already have reservations with Lit fibre due to wanting to charge extra per unit per month for additional mesh units and the lack of lan ports on the provided router.
Be interesting to see how other users have faired with either
Cheers in advance
Lee

If you go with (or have gone with, given the lateness of this reply) LightSpeed I'd be interested to hear your experiences. I've got LightSpeed and VXFiber/LilaConnect currently building around these parts. Similar to your case there will soon be choice in symmetrical 1Gb after more than a decade of me being stuck on 25-30Mb and an embarrassingly slow 6Mb upload. Can't wait.

Sorry Buddy , I pre ordered with BE-Fibre yesterday, so far out of the 4 isp's installing in the area, Be- fibre are the ones installing in my area. It appears that the 3 ALTISP's have a different area, with Openreach doing where they want lol. Locked the pre order in due to my current Plusnet contract ending next month so I will get 6 months free and 720Mb speed up and down for £35 p/m for 2 years. It looks like Lightspeed only provide a 1000Mb line, keep and eye on the poles in your street, look for the extra brackets on poles appearing and obviously open manhole cover with works and men pulling cables through. Might pay to check on a roadworks site, I use http://streetworks.org.uk/, just enter your postcode and change the dates through to next week, next 3 months , next 12 months. If a phone sign appears near to you or FTTC green box, click on it and it will show you who is doing the works inc time etc

Hi, to further update, the area now has 4 isps installing, Be fibre, lightspeed, lit fibre and openreach. It seems all have their own areas to install, my road at the minute is looking to be Be fibre as they are the only ones with pre order available. I have pre ordered with Be and locked in a deal of 720Mb for 24 months @ £35 and 6 months free, no billing til it is installed.
I would have a look at this site https://bidb.uk/ and pop your post code in and look at current works etc to see whats going on in your area, my post code showed at least one block duct on the route and who is doing the works and when, might give you some further ideas.
