FusionFibre Lower speeds at peak times.

[link to this post]

Hi,

I have three pieces of useful information.

1. I rang the tech department today, asking why my speed over ethernet was now only around 600Mb down/800mb up, when it used to be >900mb up and down 24/7. Their response was that they knew about it and that it was due to a sharp uptake of CityFibre networks. However, CityFibre are progressively upgrading their network kit which will restore full speed 24/7 as each area is done.

2. I struggled to access their user portal. The explanation is that the portal isn't fully up-and-running yet. We will get notification and access details when it is.

3. Fusion Fibre has no plans to upgrade to a higher offering such as 1.2Gb, 2Gb or 2.5Gb.

Does anyone know why Fusion Fibre had two outages of about 15 minutes each last night, around 4.00 am? Was this just a Fusion Fibre issue or was it a wider City Fibre event? In either case, I hope it was something to do with upgrading kit such as network cards to cope with the huge uptake of the City Fibre network.

Did other City Fibre ISPs get affected?

Both streams remain a little below that which I got when I first joined Fusion Fibre. I used to get >910MB even at peak times. Would kit upgrades improve speeds given that CF network architecture and cable is future-proofed?
