Not a lot different on the connection speed unfortunately. See how close together they are on this graph.

However you would not have the BT Wholesale IP Profiling system getting in the way, so throughput could be noticeably better, without being "fast".

You should get a fair increase in the upload, if that is any use to you.

BT profiling system is evil, it really is, surly no line management system can be as bad as BT.

Thanks for that.

I'm pleased to announce that we can also now provide NEW installations (phone line and broadband) as well as migrations from BT-based lines. This is ideal if you wish to sign up to the Complete 50 package and either don't yet have a landline installed or are moving house etc.

The new line activation fee is just £89 which includes the Openreach engineer new line provision and the broadband activation.

Thanks smile

Not for me as i am happy as i am, but just want to ask, I know you said that it is not on the Talk Talk network, but it still uses their equipment, so is TT DLM still in place or is it like the C&W system that don't have any?

It uses the actual same MSAN in the exchange but after that it's not TT managed.

However we have controls to set the SNR target to 6, 9, 12 or 15dB and choose either Fast path or Interleaved mode. I've not seen any connection ever lose its profile or be subject to any TT "tinkering".

So no auto management system then? So if someone decides to change the SNR at their end it don't make the system try and change it back like Bt profiling?

Sorry to bump this old thread, but I have a few questions.

A recent change in circumstances means I have to cut my outgoings considerably, and this package seems good value for money. I'm currently on a BT line with the 'Anytime' plan and have ADSL24's Home 30 package, so i'm currently paying ~£40/month.

I'm not enthused about my connection going through Talk Talk equipment at the exchange, but I have little other choice at my exchange (SWTRF). It's either BT 20CN, AOL, Sky or Talk Talk. I do have faith in ADSL24, so I'm willing to take a gamble.

Anyway, my questions..

1) Will I keep my current telephone number?

2) Roughly how long would I be without internet while the change was taking place?

3) The package details don't mention caller display. Can I get this, and how much extra would it cost?

4) I feel a little uneasy about leaving BT behind completely. If I wanted to go back to BT in the future, how much hassle is it, and do you keep your then current phone number when going back to them?

Thanks
Nigel

Hi

1) Yes, same number as it is unaffected

2) 10-30 mins on the day whilst you are switched to the new LLU equipment

3) You get 1571 Voicemail for free, caller display just 75p per month

4) Yes, your number can go back to BT or another phone provider no problem should you need to. They just take the line back over in the same we we take it over from them. You could also go back to our normal BT-based line rental which is the same line rental BT offer but cheaper and on a monthly contract

Anything else I can help with?
