MAC Production?

I'm currently twiddling my thumbs waiting for a MAC from my ISP...can anyone explain why it might take days to generate a MAC, is it a complex process?

If using a reseller, it may simply be the delays as the MAC is request, generated and then passed back up the chain.

Yes, I'm probably missing something obvious, it just seems odd in a world of computerisation and instant communication that the process takes days rather than hours.

When I left O2 it arrived about 20 minutes after the request. By email and text.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,website and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 54.2/15.2Mbps @ 600m. - BQM

they are allowed a number of days, and it's in their interest to hang on to your revenue for as long as possible

If you are sure you are going to use the MAC, you could of course also serve your notice to leave when asking for the MAC. So it makes little difference.
