Re: ADSL24 > Coms migration. What could possibly go wrong?

Can't say I can recall unfortunately.

I've just had a look at the logs on the rebranded Coms site and it doesn't show any real downtime other than random drops at about 8am.

If I recall correctly as per this time, the ADSL line usually stayed live just there was no actual connection to Coms. I.e. the line had sync'd but it wouldn't actually connect.

Looking at both lines, they both randomly drop at around 8am (between 7:40 and 8:20ish) and it looks to be between about 2-5 days between occurrances typically. One line seems to do it about every 4 days.

Something must happen about then, probably to do with businesses I would imagine.

That sounds like a 72-hour DHCP lease expiring, or failing when it tries to renew. IIRC on O2, just an example, the lease period was 12 hours and it tried to renew every 6 hours. So it got two bites at the cherry.

What do your routers say about length, and does it normally renew half way through?

Mine is the same as Gari's who just posted below yours.
Router says they last about 1 minute before reconnecting, doesnt say anything else about dhcp renew.

So what would cause that and what is the fix?

There's usually a separate bit in the GUI showing the session, as Gari has found. I don't know what t did in the logs, though I agree you'd expect to see it there. (As long as you are looking at the full logs, not a selective one).

I am getting loads of drop-outs since the migration. They don't seem to be regular, and some of them are for around 15 minutes.

Also my SNR was originally 6db (after migration) and has now gone up to 12db so my sync speed has plummeted. Not impressed.

No way to raise tickets online, so I will try to call support this evening.
