Re: ADSL24 > Coms migration. What could possibly go wrong?

Hi all,

Looked for a thread in the Fibre section, couldn't find one..

Any of you here who are/were on ADSL24 FTTC, have you been migrated yet? I'm on 30 Ultra and was told my IP would change, it hasn't so I assume i haven't been moved yet. i've only ever had one email from them which was ages ago and thats it, so excuse me if I've missed something....

I also cant log into 'My Account' even though i know my details are correct - tried the password reset and it sends me the email, and verifies my user name is correct, but still says "Your username and/or password is incorrect - please try again" - Thats using the password you supply on the login page. Amazing.

Same here, on a fibre service, but my account doesnt work.

Perhaps it will only work after migration?

Yeah same here bob.

The worrying thing about this is that the buyout by COMS was supposed to have been sorted out in May which surely gives them plenty of time to organise themselves before the migration from ADSL24 in December.

I'm feeling more and more like jumping ship. Think i'll give it around another 4 weeks to see an improvement. If not then I'm gone.

Well, powering down the router for 2 hours hasn't resolved my loss of service. Phoned support again, now told that line is in wrong status - activating? Waiting for a callback.

It appears that the outage I had today wasn't coms fault. My router was saying that the adsl link was down, everything looked to be okay, and it had been working fine - just suddenly stopped working this morning. In desperation I did a factory reset on my router and that has restored service. Don't understand why that's resolved it - it had been working, I didn't change anything when it lost the connection, and I've put the settings back to what they were and it's still working. Very confused.

That's exactly what I was thinking earlier today. I wonder it they trialled the migration with anybody at all, or just assumed/hoped all would be okay.

The only thing that's stopping me leaving is the thought that things could actually be worse with another provider and I'd be on a 12 month+ contract.

We had thunder and hail this morning. If you did, that can easily corrupt the router.

Plenty of ISPs with monthly contracts almost identical to ADSL24's

Are you talking download allowance or webspace with the 10GB? Or have Coms somehow got your download allowance/account showing in cPanel?
