Migration Speed drop (ADSL24 to Coms)

[link to this post]

After the initial migration from the O2 provided ADSL24 to TT provided Coms i noticed a speed drop, firstly as i was no longer on 3db but also my upload took a big hit. After complaining i was moved from TT to what seems to be Enta BT21CN, i'm now on FastPath and 3db. Yet i'm still synced at less than i would be via O2 ADSL24. My upload has more than halved and my download is still not what it was... Nothing has changed Hardware wise.

Anyone know why this would be?

My download speed is around the same as it was with ADSL24 but my upload speed is just over half what it was.
I can only think they've not sorted out all the bugs in their system yet. Especially as we were promised double the upload speed we used to have.

However I had to change my router as for some reason the Netgear DG834GT I was using wouldn't connect to their network. I tried several different firmware versions but didn't have any success so using a cheap ZyXEL for now.

First edit wasn't good enough smile. You've got "download" twice in the first line.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 59.4/14.4Mbps @ 600m. - BQM

The main difference between O2W and TTB is the SNR profiling.

Whereas O2W profiles used to (generally) be the same up and down, the TTB upstream SNR is always higher than the downstream.

This means slightly lower upstreams. Annex M, if possible, can help with that though but it is not suitable for all.

Might see a very small increase in upstream, likely a drop in downstream.

We only recommend Annex M over 16Mb but might be worth a try, assuming you can downgrade again.

Well on O2/Be at 16Mbps sync on Annex A, the typical change on Annex M was a loss of about 2.5Mbps downstream with a tiny gain on upstream.

As the line got shorter, the loss of downstream decreased and the upstream gain increased. At around 20-21Mbps Annex A there would be zero downstream loss and close to 2.5Mbps upstream sync.
