Thanks user7423 for the feedback, hope your line settles down, sounds like a card change at the exchange for you.

No idea Paul, I'm guessing mid morning will have to see as I have to supervise gardening team on the afternoon and be available for a delivery. Busy day tomorrow.

May as well do it before you go to work. Or do it as soon as you get there.

Depending on the type of move, you may not be able to access it to change the settings after the move.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 58.7/14.6Mbps @ 600m. - BQM

Thanks. I forgot about my IP address changing.

GPRS > 3G > HSDPA > ADSL > ADSL Max > ADSL2+ > FTTC very soon

It'll be interesting to see if it gives me slightly higher speeds whilst I'm waiting to move over to fibre.

Will the network changes affect fibre connections in the long-term, as well?

GPRS > 3G > HSDPA > ADSL > ADSL Max > ADSL2+ > FTTC in next few weeks > FTTP next decade?

Indeed my current sync is 18563 @ NM of 1.5 db, be interesting to see if they increase my NM.

Yes and no.

On FTTC your connection speed is determined by the Openreach kit in the fibre cabinet.

On FTTP it is the speed you contract for.

On both, the throughput side of things is down to your ISP in the same way as on ADSLx.

I got a bit worried earlier, as I couldn't change my username and password on my Billion 7800N (2 and a half years since I last had to do it).

The WAN Profile page allows you to edit the settings and save them but you actually have to do it through the Quick Start page!

GPRS > 3G > HSDPA > ADSL > ADSL Max > ADSL2+ > FTTC in next few weeks > FTTP next decade?
