Did you tweak the SNR on the router or is this the default set by Daisy?

Could be the default - I didn't tweak it.

I just restarted my router through the router page.

GPRS > 3G > HSDPA > ADSL > ADSL Max > ADSL2+ > FTTC in next few weeks > FTTP next decade?

You are lucky you got an email. Nothing came thru to me but then I wasn't expecting it, when the news surfaced on this forum I called Vivaciti support to see if I would be affected and was told NO.... well that was clearly wrong because today my BQM shows my connection dropping around midday and tonight when I got home I had to call support because my connection was down to be told that my log in details were wrong.

Tonight my new BQM shows a red spike around 9 pm and the Vivaciti speedtest returns around 5 Megs - the sort of speeds I was getting on ADSLmax when I was with Enta this despite having a sync of 8056kbit/s. The Thinkbroadband speedtest suggests that there is a Contention issue that was also present when I tested earlier tonight - while the x6 download is about average the *down tbb* figure has halved.

If this is what I can expect I will be moving PDQ. After the Comms debacle we witnessed earlier this year (Narrow escape for me - I almost went with ADSL24 a couple of years back), I'm left wondering if the smaller ISPs have some kind of death wish syndrome.

I know I have to endure a training period again - this on a line that isn't the most stable, but I can see me moving quickly if this is the sort of service that Vivaciti is providing via Enta.

Suddenly I am quite unimpressed with Vivaciti, and when that happens it usually signals a migration - they made a choice - quite possibly the wrong one from my point of view - time will tell.

What time. No slow down for me according to JD auto tester on the half hour, steady 16.1 mbps, mind this is the sort of thing I read of in the past from Enta, will continue testing.

Sorry to hear that warweezil. I dont even know what package I am on. I did read that Daisy's billing department isnt that good a while back, going after hundreds of pounds from a reseller's customer so maybe that is why they changed to Enta.

There have clearly been some changes at Vivaciti, possibly at board level. They blamed the recent Daisy outage for moving to Enta iirc.

For the moment the Vivaciti site has disappeared so no way of raising a ticket, maybe a DDOS attack from an unhappy customer.

Speeds at Zen for me used to drop from 7 mbit to 1mbit at peaks times when I was on ADSLMAX. I was hoping to get away from BT contention and so far so good, but Daisy gave me good service since 2011. Still there is always Xilos TTB LLU package, although there is a charge for migration.

I am not overly impressed either, I have had more disconnects in the first 24 hours on this new service than I had in a year on C&W LLU. I am seriously thinking of moving to Xilo, as I know their customer service is good, as I have a couple of domains / hosting with them for the last couple of years and any questions I have asked them have been answered very quickly.

If Openjoke would get on with twinning PCP29 and getting fibre live on this exchange I know what I would be doing! I will see how it goes, and keep rattling the superfarce cymru people who cant give a straight answer to a simple question.

Long term I have doubts about continuing with Vivaciti whatever happens. Im not impressed either with the way this was handled or with the "improved" service. Its a shame - up to now I have been quite happy, but it seems to be a pattern... its all my fault... Pipex were great... then went stupid with stealth throttling which they blamed on all sorts of things except their own policy, Enta were fine - then we had the whole WBC/IPSC fiasco which dropped the qualiity of my connection from which it never recovered, now this.....

7.20 am Vivacitis own speedtest page returns figure of 5671 KBits/s with an upload also slower tha daisy at a shade over 700 KBits/s. so My Upload has dropped since yesterday AND My download speeds is back to where it was on ADSL1 over 2 years ago. TBB test still shows contention and im seeing a steady ribbon of red at the top of my BQM. If I wanted this rubbish Id sign up for a mega cheap Talk Talk package rather than paying over the odds for a tourist class service I am seeing now.

Ditto here. Downstream has dropped form by over 1Mb+ and I've also had a number of disconnections.

I left Enta some years ago for good reason now I'm back with them through no doing of my own. For the past two years with Vivaciti Surfwise my line had been the most stable and consistent I've ever had and now it looks like that has ended.

I'll give it a week but if this is the shape of things to come Vivaciti can say goodbye to my business.

I also left enta for good reason also, the problem with constant disconnects and it would take anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour to reconnect. Same boat as yourself, back on entanet when I was perfectly happy with C&W LLU and had no problems with my connection at all. Again, like yourself, I will give it a week or so, but if my connection keeps dropping everyday, then I will be migrating. The first two days have not impressed me at all so far.
