Just wondering....

I'm signed up with Xilo for my broadband, the Pro (LLU - TTB) package and very happy I am but just wondered about who exactly my connection goes through. I am useless at reading and interpreting ip address info so hope that some one here would look at the ip stuff and tell me if I do indeed have my connection through TTB. I don't see TTB mentioned anywhere below but hey who am I. Perhaps the LLU supplier doesn't have to be mentioned at all but it would be good to know and learn these things.

Goto command prompt (cmd) then type "tracert bbc.co.uk" and enter

That will tell, but i believe Xilo use Daisy

TTB is just the equipment used at the exchange, nothing more

Thanks for the info. My trace route is on a go slow tonight (below) but I can see what you're saying. Always wanted to know just how to interpret a trace route. Learned such a lot since frequenting these forums thank to folks like you. Cheers.

No worries. Those IPs are Daisy IP addresses so shows it goes over there network. Traceroutes are pretty easy to work out once you know what to look for. Basically just the different routers/servers that a packet of data goes through from your machine to the web address you typed in

Yep. The first hop after the router is Daisy.

My theory, as xilo existed long before uno:-

If you look at the xilo website Home Page it is very much a "Business" provider. By the time I discovered it, it had many residential customers.

I believe at some point they decided it would be good idea to create a separate consumer website, and also decided they would give it its own identity. They called it uno. Here is its Home Page.

The process of transferring stuff or setting up cross-links and co-ordinating everything in the ordering and management processes I would expect to be horrendous, and it looks as though it was so never happened.

If you look at this page you see both names. I assume for the moment they have given up on the uno dedicated website.

You can get to what looks like the identical page but including SOHO by going to xilo >> Services >> (xilo broadband) SOHO Broadband.

It was, is and well... Is coming to the final stages of the work and i'm quite excited by it. It's just taken a little longer than we would have ever hoped.

It's been a complete re-write of every line of code.. no quick task.
