First Utility Broadband

We have our gas/electric with First Utility. They keep emailing me about their broadband/phone. Anyone know anything about their offering? Are they using BT wholesale? Anyone any experience of what they are like speed wise?

They're offering 76Mb FTTC for £27.99 (including line rental) at the moment

There was comment about this somewhere on the forum.

I kept getting spammed with this and went into my account settings and stopped all promotional emails from First.

I wouldn't go near the offer, it is not cheap, has a long tie in period and is linked to your utility account.

If you change gas/electric supplier you have to migrate your broadband and pay for any remaining months of the broadband contract.

Yes, a little like SSE. Much better deals elsewhere, even with no contract tie-in.
