Pulse8 Broadband Intermittent Broadband

Anyone have problems with Adsl broadband
I have an ongoing problem for last month.
I sync at 13 down 0.8 up. Stats. 9db 32 down 0.8 up.
Some of time browsing is slow or non existent. Have to wait for letters to appear in browser, spinning wheel appears to left of web address, site does not connect and have to force exit.
Other times browsing is fast and normal.
Recently I have had to reboot router in morning. Router in sync, but no connection to host.
Download always fine, even 4k, Upload seems to appear problem whereby can take ages to connect then at 0.2 and rises to 0.4 or sometimes does not connect.
Any ideas? Congestion?
Connects to extension but no different from master.
Fibre is available but no speed advantage

I would try a different router to see if that changes anything .

Always useful having a cheap/second hand router to test with and if there is no change with different kit it proves to the ISP it's not you router causing the issue.

Hmmm, sounds similar to a fault I attended last week .... Crawlingly slow, pages timing out etc .... In the end proved to be 'something' on the punters 'main' PC, as soon as this was on and connected to the web, everything ran like a dog ... Mr.S on here suggested 'something' was swamping the upload, like maybe something uploading vast amounts (backing up photos ?) to the cloud or similar.....

The punter thought this had all started after a recent Windows 10 update.

If you can turn off and disconnect EVERYTHING that speaks to the router, then reconnect one at a time, speed testing as you go till you find the culprit.

Have set up another router. As intermittent fault will leave to morning.
My provider advised errors on line- increased db to 12. Could also be splitter, changed but router in sync without throughput again this morning.Or laptop, but problem on windows phone as well.

Browsing slow could be DNS? Im guessing you're using the default Talk talk DNS settings, try changing to OpenDNS or Google DNS

Im with Pulse8 and not having this.

I also have a similar issue with Pulse8 (adsl)- the final suggestion (after router / filter changes etc.) has been to knock the sync speeds down which after almost 2 years of great performance (8 mg down) to 5 mg after a profile change is unacceptable.

Great when it works but not so good when you have issues .... shame

Exactly same scenario here. Increased db to 12 citing upload errors latest reason. Similar drop in speed to yours and fixes offered made no difference.
Looks like it could be bandwidth capacity geing close to limit. Extra customers without capacity change maybe.
I have increased download speed using a Billion 7800N and SNR adjustment. This however does not solve intermittent problem.
Having TalkTalk line limits options, May try UNO who are offering 1 month contracts at the moment.

In addition to this, after the main problem is found + fixed, might be worth looking into getting a router with good QoS to minimise impact of such problems in future? Prioritising browsing etc vs uploading stuff helps a lot.

When only two in property use the internet for browsing. No uploading done.
