Shell Energy Superfast fibre connection speed

[link to this post]

Could anyone else who is on Shell Energy Superfast fibre package check their connection speed on their router?

I seem to be getting limited to 35Mbps down for the past few months. My line is capable of mid 50's so on this package I would expect to max out close to 40. Pretty sure it was around 40 when I originally got connected.

Line Rate - 7.14Mpbs UP, 34.99Mbps DOWN
Line Attenuation - 7.8, 39.2dB UP,. 18.7, 48.3, 74.0dB DOWN
Noise Margin - 6.1dB UP, 8.6dB DOWN

Have you had a lot of disconnections at some time, or perhaps been doing a lot of re-syncs yourself in a few hours? That 34.99 looks suspiciously like a "banded profile" profile setting that is typically caused by that sort of thing.

The down attenuation of 8.6dB also suggests something unusual going on, as it is quite rare on FTTC.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk. Domains, site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Three 4G, tbb tests normally 35-45Mpbs down, 65Mbps off-peak, 9-24 up.

I don't recall many disconnections happening / have not been forcing any re-syncs.

Originally I had my Netgear D7000v2 connected in modem/router mode when I noticed the 34.99Mbps connection speed.

I gave their support a call who said I should plug their provided Technicolor router which I wasn't keen on to be honest.

I've had the Technicolor connected in Bridge mode to acting as the modem with D7000v2 as router for the past few weeks and no change to connection speed.

DSL uptime showing as 14 days 9 hours at the moment so I would of hoped the profile would have sorted itself out?
