Why do you think they are the only providers you can go to?
What exchange is it?

They probably have the whole village. Just like KC has the whole of Hull, No BT presence at all.

I shall be moving to Cranbrook near Exeter shortly which I am told is exclusively SeeTheLight. Can anyone give any feedback as what their service is like there?

Actually it depends which bit of Cranbrook you're in. One part is exclusively SeeTheLight, and the other is exclusively Virgin.

I have no personal experience of it (don't live in Cranbrook) but I do know that an awful lot of people I deal with think it STL sucks, and I know a lot of people who generally don't like Cranbrook and feel they've been given a bad deal.

I believe you will soon if you can't yet choose to use a different energy supplier mind... so you don't HAVE to be with eon anymore...

There is no exchange, that's the point... there is no BT service in the areas STL are in - such as Cranbrook (vaguely classed as "in Exeter" but in no way really in Exeter)

Thank you for that useful info. I don't suppose you know which part is exclusively Virgin and/or which developers are building there?

That's not actually correct.

Virgin CANNOT supply Cranbrook. However, there is an alternative to "seethelight".

Direct Save Telecom can supply service to all sites where "seethelight" operate.

If your interested, this is where I went...

My brother is with these he is not impressed how he is locked to hardly any choice all the providers are poorly priced no proper competition.

He has been having so many issues with the router they provide its rubbish its a zte one and the wifi is one of the worst i have ever seen he can hardly get a stable signal in the next room most of the time as well it wont even show 5ghz it keeps disappearing even if you stand next to the thing

When contacting them about this they are not even helpful trying to claim they cant control wifi and the router is fine from what they can see if he wants a replacement they want something like £60 and for him to renew his contract for another 12 months

These have been taken over by Sky as well yet do not offer any deals.if you have tv.

If they are recommending using seethelight then surely you are on an OFNL and could then use any other prover that offers service via them. Worth a look!

This is a list of provers: https://www.ofnl.co.uk/residents-businesses/availabl...

You replied to the OP, who lost interest in the thread in 2011, and the thread dying in 2015.. It was woken up by the poster before you, presumably just to make a comment about the ISP.

Connections: OnePlus 8 Pro on Three 4+ (LTE)/5G and at home Three Mobile, with (Three)ZTE MF286D router giving about 113/20Mbps.
