Tiscali use Globalspan on my local exchange for ADSL2+.

I'm using a Speedtouch 716WL with version 5 firmware. Its very stable on ADSL2+ but Microsoft Vista does not like it.

HI Ian,

I didn't mean to dig particularly about the Belkin, it seemed to behave OK for the LLU connection (when it was up, which wasn't very often). I was just saying that it's no wonder ISP's can struggle when kit for one person is great and for another not which I guess is related to line conditions and the differing equipment in the xchange.

Cheers, Tom.

Tom

I completely agree with you. To be honest the Belkin is not the router I would choose were it not for the fact that the S/N margin it syncs at can be tweeked from the user's end. It is a poorly specified router, looks like it is made from the remains of an old tin can. The support of the end user with their myriad of different kit must be a nightmare hence the reason why ISPs such as Bulldog virtually "give away" a specific brand of router.

Exactly.

Sky and Talktalk etc wont offer support to any routers except the ones they offer, and rightly so.
