Disconnections...

[link to this post]

Anybody else experiencing disconnections today?

I'm on LLU so not sure if it's isolated to LLU or to all. Have been disconnected 4 times today with the last downtime being over 50 mins.

It's not the router nor the filter as I have two spare routers and 3 filters.

It's getting ridiculous on LLU. Either Plusnet can put me back on BTw or give me a MAC after all these disconnections / downtimes / extremely slow speeds.

yep, loads more today than usual. LLU's only usually drop around 2 or 3 times each 24hr period but they seem to be dropping about 2 or 3 times per hour right now.

I'm monitoring 4x LLU lines and there is a pattern of them all going off/on at the same, not always, but usually.

am nearly completely free of plusnet, lots of migrations and ceases to get through, but eventually I can tell them to **** off!

This is a follow up to the previously reported connection issue. For your reference, the original report can be found here:
http://usertools.plus.net/status/archive/1156425019.htm

We believe that the initial issue has been resolved, and all customers should now be able to reconnect.

Our network engineers will continue to work with our LLU supplier, to identify the initial cause of the problem and to see if further preventative measures can be taken.

Kind Regards
Mand Beckett

I doubt it, the Tiscali LLU system has been a shambles from day 1.

What's the current situation with wanting to get back onto BTw or a MAC from Plusnet? Do we get charged for this if our connections are going downhill?

They won't migrate you back to BTw, full stop, whether you are staying with them or not (and whether you are having problems with LLU or not). I'm having to cease lines out of pure frustration, luckily it's the holiday season

Obviously if you're going to cease you'll have to pay an activation fee with the new provider unless it's one of the bigger ISP's that gives you everything and a toothbrush with it.

According to a PUG thread, Tiscali understood that there had been a power failure at Telehouse (colocation facility), and a contact at Telehouse has advised the same.

Yes, another one today. Someone at Tiscali cited they were running on UPS. What they omitted to mention is that UPS was actually a power feed located elsewhere as the real UPS didn't function and switch the loads....
