Question?

[link to this post]

I am hoping to move to Sheffield soon, if I have problems with moving my connection with me would I be able to walk down to their customer services centre and talk to a person face to face?

You honestly think Plusnet are stupid enough to allow physical interaction with customers, in the light of the quality of service they currently have? I think not.

"For the record, there is no other ISP managing a Broadband network half as efficiently as us"
Ian Wild, Customer Communications Manager, Plusnet
"One thing that these guys (other ISPs) all have in common is their complete inability in being able to manage a network, which is something that we are totally transparent on and also do totally effectively." Marco Potesta, Director of Marketing, Plusnet

Same faces, Same policies, Same goalpost moving, Same Obfuscation. SAME PLUSNET.

You know how people tell you that your posts sometimes are over the top - well you've done it again.

If your opinion is such that this is a daft thing to try then say so, but saying 'Plusnet are stupid enough to allow...' as you did is just antagnoistic with no basis in fact.

More over reaction

In reply to:

but saying 'Plusnet are stupid enough to allow...'

He didn`t say that. He said, "Do you think Plusnet are stupid enough to allow." Firsly mods don`t like individuals from PN being named, now "carefull how you refer to the company". It`s getting riduculous Andrew.

I am going to have to agree with Mr S on this one. Point out errors or backtracking, be critical, vocal even but this kind of post helps no one and I suspect the OP posted it as a bit of a tongue in cheek comment in any case. Let's try together, and I mean everyone, to focus on the good and try and improve the bad. Whether we are successful is a different issue but at least we try to do it in some form of constructive manner.

Notice how I used to ... to indicate the presence of more text.

If you feel his post does not seem flippant and off the cuff then fine, but for all Buggerlugz knows this may be a reasonable thing to do, it probably isn't, but was their the need to say it the way he did.

Well they are all certainly there, I've met them.

How they would take to you turning up at the door, I don't know, but TBH they were all friendly and such when I was there. But I guess these are a fairly strained set of folks at the moment!

I can understand that, a lot of things are going on right now for them, I would have thought that by going down and waiting patiently it would be easier for them, in a meeting on your own ground you can leave the meeting if necessary to attend to more important business and come back, saves everyone money and I have the time to sit around and wait.

On a serious note, if you think you need to visit an ISP, any ISP, because you need a resolution and the only means is by visiting their premises I would be extremely worried but then I expect to get through to someone knowledgeable and helpful on the phone without the need to visit them in person. Secondly if a company is not set-up for customer facing scenarios then it is unlikely to be a good idea in any case and little will be achieved.

I sense you are still joking. Tell me I am right please.

Actually I wasn't just wanted to know if it was possible, I'm not envisaging major problems, I expect things to take time and I'll have access to another connection if I need it so no hardships there

Whilst I would not expect them to officially encourage it, because they wouldn't have time, let alone the facilities, to see all of their customers in person, I would think that if you paid them a discreet visit, and were nice, there would actually be quite a good chance you would be seen.

I tend to be the type of persn that prefers to do official business face to face, actually go to the people, but it may not always be practical
