Moving back to BTw from LLU, at last...

[link to this post]

So persistance does pay.

Thanks to RSharma on his recent post containing 'LLU and your rights'.

Having experienced disconnections all throughout August and also loss of service during transfer to LLU, I was determined to get myself back onto BTw's network instead of having a [censored] connection from Tiscali.

It seems some CS staff were willing to fob me off through the ticket replies but having quoted some of the LLU faqs in my last reply it has done the trick and i'm now being transferred back to a more stable network. They didn't really have an option as I hadn't been given a choice to opt out and their communication was poor before and after transfer.

It may take 7-14 days but at least I can say good riddance to Tiscali. Lets just hope my transfer back goes smoothly and then if Plusnet behave i'll stay on, if not then tata along with my MAC.

Well done, it seems that you'd passed your test of patience and will be rewarded with a (hopefully) fully working BTw connection.

If not, like you say migration will be a lot easier.

It's a shame that Plus.net seem on making life as difficult as possible and kind of makes a folly of the "You stay we pay" mantra that they advertise.

I do find it strange that the free setup banner says that there are no catches even though if you read the small print at the bottom there is the catch of the 5 year lock in if you really want a "free setup"... hmmm

I think it would help if the CEO showed some leadership, and told the Marketing Director to get a grip of reality and ditch such silly claims.

Talk is cheap... providing consistent results is harder, unfortunately.

I've never been happy of being locked in to anything as it shackles your freedom, though everyone's circumstances will be different and I'm sure that for some people

Excellent, Pedge. I think there will be many long suffering PlusNet customers who are grateful for all rsharma's efforts here to illuminate the access roads to justice.

I would also be interested to hear from anyone who tries to get the same migration back to IPStream but without quoting the LLU FAQ (at least until it becomes necessary). PlusNet CSC have allegedly been fully briefed this week to honour the policies laid down in the Alternative Network Providers FAQ and migrate anyone back who has been LLU'd without the proper advance notification (two emails). Unfortunately, we need to monitor this and make sure that it is now happening without customers having to rant, rave, quote chapter and verse or threaten legal action...

Just got an email From Dave T saying they will move me back to IPStream following me quoting the LLU FAQ at them

Although he does go on to say: " this is an entirely manual process so can take up to a month to complete."

Another success story and happy to see it has worked out for you.

Do you have a stable connection and one that works? If not then ask them to cease the LLU and reprovide on BT because it will be much quicker. PN have however stated that Tisclai are supposed to provide them with a MAC code within 3 days and then 7-14 days to migrate you over.

I really don't think I can be bothered going through a cease and re-provide. I am suffering the frequent losses of sync and disconnects, and I have very poor speeds today - both issues are known and on the service status page. It's a nuisance but I can live with it. I am guessing that the within a month is due to the trial nature of the migration from LLU to IPStream and is a worst case scenario.
