Configurable interleaving

[link to this post]

My router shows the following info so I know I have interleaving enabled on the line.....

ADSL Line Type G.DMT
ADSL Line Coding INTERLEAVE
Current Rate DownStr: 6336(K) UpStr: 448(K)
ADSL Line Status UP

I have a friend who has just been connected to Plusnet on a Broadband Plus account, and in their connection settings, it says her line is Interleaved and gives an option to switch it off (along with a warning about potentially reducing stability)

I don't want to switch mine off, but was just curious as to why this isn't an option on my Broadband Premier account?

Thanks
Stu

Can't see why it would be hidden away though, when it's easy to find in the Connection Settings of my friend's Plus account.

I think that I remember someone saying that there was sometimes an icon in the connection settings page on the portal, but I cannot see it, possibly as I am not interleaved.

the reason I say hidden away is that "stable_rate" has no icon

There was an Product Announcement by James Bailey which may shed some light on the subject for you.

See this thread. It does appear that the icon only appears if you have interleaving on for a BT line.

I suspect that this is because your Interleaving is set to Auto and that it has been automatically turned on. If your interleaving was set to On, you woulf get the option to set it to Off.
