Can Plusnet issue them over the weekend? Reason i ask is i asked for mine on Friday evening and still had no reply.

I think there are limited staff who can, though your 30 day notice period has already started (It starts when you ask for the MAC and not when it is issued).
In practice I found that MAC requests seemed to get answered in the middle of the night rather than during the day.

Yes, MACs can be issued 24/7 but it does depend on whether staff with the correct authorisation are in and not too busy with others things.

I asked for mine Friday lunchtime and got mine within an hour! Didn't expect it to be that quick when they warn you that it could take up to 7 days!

I think that Plus.net are operating on a "give MAC code first, ask questions later". When you leave I think that they will send you to a link for a questionaire.

Of course this all depends on whether or not you have any outstanding payments such as deferred activations fees, et al.

I agree with that comment, no questions when I asked for my MAC code.

Well at least they aren't operating the same policy as AOL in the U.S

I suppose that Plus.net think that it's better to let them go if they don't want to be your customer, not disimilar to having a disgruntled Premiership footballer on your team who wants to leave and is threatening to score own scores if you don't let him go..

At least I hear that you can no longer max out your connection 24/7 to spite the ISP because it all costs money to supply you with the bandwidth.

I'm moving to AOL so hope I don't want to cancel :P

Nobody on be*, UKO or Bulldog LLU has ever been told off for using too much so the Fair Use Policies are all pretty irrelevant at the moment.

AOL will soon be taken over anyway and then you will see a FUP appear pretty sharpish by its new owners.

You have to remember that AOL's UK ISP is unprofitable which is why they are looking to sell.

I'm sure they will in time, just like your sure AOL new owners will have a FUP.
But atm I think they want anyone they can with LLU with the trouble there seems to be with it.
(reading the large amounts of posts about LLU on this forum).
