I had an email from plusnet 2 days ago saying my upgrade was going through. Today it seems I have the upgrade. Below are my stats:

ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 7616 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 23.0 db 13.0 db
Noise Margin 15.9 db 22.0 db

My question is, I am only showing 2mb speeds though when performing speed tests. Will the speeds increase over the next 10 days? I am rebooting my router a couple of times a day.

Cool, I was going to ask the same question I got mine done today and the upload speed comes back faster but the download speed still at 2mb...

I've been upgraded since 12/10 and so far I can only achieve a speed of 5mb with 370k up speed. I don't know if this will increase further to nearly 8mb or not?

I was upgraded this morning from 1Mbps fixed to approx 4Mbps max. Initially my "stable_rate" was still 2Mbps, but was automatically switched to 3.5Mbps this evening. I wasn't expecting it to move for at least 3 days.

It seems like the automated processes are working well.

My upgrade came through today.

Likewise though, on speed tests I am only getting 2Mb speeds.

Is it worth turning my router off every day (i.e. off in the morning when I go to work, on when I get home)?

Don't worry, it takes a couple of days. You'll probably find your router disconnects in the middle of the night some time and then restarts with a higher speed to try to aim at 6dB SNR. Mine started off at 2 Mbps, then went up to 5Mbps. Since then it's fluctuating between 5.1 and 6.5Mbps. My profile remained at 2Mbps until after the first 3day period. Then it went up to 4.5Mbps, then 5.5Mbps, and it's back down to 5Mbps today. I've got about 3 days more of the 10day training period to run.
If you're getting 7.6Mbps with a 9dB SNR, then the profile should end up the fastest possible which I assume in your case would be 6.5Mbps or maybe higher.

Downstream Rate: 7616 Kbps
Upstream Rate: 448 Kbps
Downstream Margin: 10 db
Upstream Margin: 23 db
Downstream Line Attenuation: 21
Upstream Line Attenuation: 11

Are these ok figures?

They are pretty much the max you can get on MaxDSL, give or take a few 100Kbs.

Do you think I will do the training process any harm by switching the router off in the morning when I go to work and back on when I get home? Or should I just leave it on 24/7 as intended?

It was so much easier when I lived in a cable area! They just ramped up the bandwidth overnight and there were never any problems :-)

When I was maxed just over a week ago, my speeds stuck at 2meg, and my profile didn't move at all. Left it a few days and there was no change (even after re-booting my router). Raised a ticket, and PlusNet were excellent. To cut a long story short, after they investigated, my profile was changed to '8000' (not sure if PN or BT did this), and my speeds radically increased. I connect as follows - Downstream 7616 and Upstream 448. Here's a speed test i've just performed, which is fairly typical now:-

Is it just co-incidence that you all seem to be syncing at 7616? Isn't that the maximum sync with interleaving enabled.

No, that is not the maximum attainable. How about these stats...

I don't know about others but my MAX upgrade appears to have gone straight onto interleaved - unless it was throwing a wobbler when it was first upgraded in the early hours of the morning which might possibly have caused it. I'm not bothered as I don't game & don't get anywhere near the maximum (apart from about 11 hours synched at 7000kbps after a power drop in the midldle of the day recently).

Interleaving is now default. I guess this was in response to the number of issues during the first MaxDSL rollout.
