e-mail problems, Transport filter process failed

Getting Transport filter process failed (251) when my Mum who has a mailbox sends a message to my sister who has her own plusnet account. When my sister sends mails to my mum's mail box they just don't arrive. Plusnet looking into it but why are the mails from my mum to sister bouncing with Transport filter process failed (251)????
