Off to Pastures New

[link to this post]

Evening all,

I would like to say a big thanks to all of you who have helped me out at one time or another. I am migrating out to IDNet on Friday. Having been a Plusnet customer for qute a few years now I feel it is time to send a message to the company by voting with my feet and walking away. I have absolutely no confidence in Plusnet any more. It was not the recent security breach that forced my hand, rather the bizarre way in which they dealt with it. As usual the ill thought out emails came flying out of them, and when the time arrived for them to follow it up...nothing, zip, nada, zilch.

Not only that, but the 3 families that I pointed in the direction of Plusnet (none of whom who really care who provides their service so long as it works) were all caling and texting asking what the hell was going on and how could I have recommended such an awful company to them, which I am none to pleased with as I watch my crediblity go down the pan. Plusnet rely on their customers to recommmend them, and to be blunt, never again will I do so.

One other ting that really gets my goat is that despie all the promises, their primary means of cutomer contact is still like walking through treacle. The "Help Assistant" needs a help section all of its own, and when you finally manage to write something it can be days before they reply, and when they do the responses often leave a lot to be desired (Ticket Tennis anyone??)

Even canceling was a farce as they issued me with a MAC code with an expiry date of 11/2005 and then ignored theticket I raised to request a correct one. Then, when they finally did gt me one, they claimed my 30 days started from then and not from when they issued the dodgy one! Dealing with a knowledgable human being can solve issues in far less time that raking through countless numbers of tickets to try and find what the issue is, and more often than not Plusnet have a habit of closing tickets which are not resolved properly requiring yet another one and another ensuing game of very boring TT.

I won't even begin to describe the phone system and call centre experience. (Yes I am fully aware that there are some great staff in there) However, there are also some truly awful ones who could not give a monkeys, or are too busy arguing the toss that Plusnet are THE best and are practically perfect in every way to ask themselves why I am on the phone and geting more annoyed by the second....do they think we call them for fun?? And to top it all, they then refuse point blank to help saying its best to do it online and when asked for a Manager the answer is always a: No on available b: I am the most senior person on duty c: they will only say what I am saying or d: Point blank NO

I could go on, but I won't. Needless to say that when I called IDNet today to migrate the phone was answered immediately, they "apologised" when they found out my current ISP, and they processed everything first time correctly, Infact it was refreshing to actually converse with them and know that they were happy to provide the advice and assistance. I cannot wait to finally get rid of Plusnet and I strongly suggest that if you are in the same boat as me that you do the same....despite their claims, they do not get better. I would have liked to have believed them but as they continue to stumble from one gaff to another I am no longer prepared to put up with it. How long is it before ALL out personal details are nicked from their dodgy systems??? I, for one aint taking the chance!!

I wish everyone the very best, I have enjoyed watching the banter back and forth in here over the years. All the best Folks.

Your 30 days notice starts from when you give it. The clock starts ticking as soon as you submit the ticket/request, when they respond to it is up to them

Enjoy the breath of fresh air with your new ISP, hope it stays as a positive experience. If not, there's plenty more out there to choose from!
