Appaling evening speeds again

[link to this post]

It has been a while since I had such low speeds as 386kbps but see that I was disconnected about a day ago, presumably something to do with the new added segment. Following which my sync speed dropped a little from 3776 to 3774 ans still on pte-ag1

I think I will try a resync and see if another gateway performs little better?

Hi,

There's spare capacity across all the pipes at the moment, what do you get on the BT Speedtest?

Hi there,

If you can supply a username I'm happy to do a few tests to try and find out where your speed issue may lie.

"There's spare capacity across all the pipes at the moment,"

Eh? What happened to the all-singing, all-dancing, slipper-bringing, brew-making revamp of the traffic management system making it even more intelligent? It doesn't recognise you've got spare capacity during peak hours! How wasteful is that? You should stop rate-limiting the likes of p2p traffic so heavily during peak hours and give the customers what they're paying for.

"Your a customer then? Your experiencing the service now?"

Not experiencing the full service because there is spare capacity on the pipes. It seems a shame as I was going to sign someone up for PN as things seems to be settling down again. Better the devil you know and all that. If PN have got spare capacity at peak time then I don't think traffic management is working correctly, do you?

It isn't automatic (they have admitted as much) and distributed through manual intervention. I still won't recommend them anytime soon, but I never have done that because of monetary interests.

So much for automation. It seems the EntaNet folks might be getting a better bang for their buck out of their centrals.
