Plans for BT Vision?

[link to this post]

All,

I'm not (yet) a PlusNet customer, but you seem to be one of the most capable providers (no wonder BT bought you!). Pleased to see the traffic shaping, unlimited overnight use, 622Mbit centrals, decent web-interface, UK technical support etc.

However, with the buyout from BT, are there any plans to deliver the Vision TV service? I need to decide whether to use PlusNet or Tiscali.

Thanks for any insight.

Regards
James.

Absolutely. It's on the roadmap and was mentioned in our "Plans for 2007". It's not something we can rush out for our customers, though, for various reasons. We'll also be looking at BT Fusion (the mobile service).

I won't mislead you, though, by saying they're going to be here next month. Both of these are likely to be firmed up by the beginning of 2008. Hopefully we'll be able to give more definite timescales within the next few months, however.

Hope that helps. :-)

Hi there,

Glad to see you like what we offer so far.

There are definitely plans to offer BT Vision, although the actual timescale for this has not yet been confirmed.

In short, it's on the way.

Damn - Three comms team replies :-).. I'm in meetings for the rest of the day pretty much, but as I typed it out:

There are plans, but at this stage it's unlikely to be something that happens very quickly in all honesty. We did announce Vision in our 2007 roadmap, but at this stage I'm not sure we will be able to deliver to that as things haven't moved as quickly as we would like. We will be publishing a half way update to the plans soon, and I should be able to give you more details then.

I don't know much about Tiscali TV. Am I right in thinking you can only get it if you are in London or Stevenage?

This must be the first thread I've seen to have more replies from plusnet personnel than BBS users.
