my sync rate has dropped Drasticly today to 704

Hello my sync rate has dropped Drasticly today to 704
here are my previous rates and todays

446 / 3,500 28th feb

448 / 2,336 1st of march

448 / 2,624 2nd of march

448 / 2,720 3rd of march

448 / 2,656 4th march

448 / 3,264 5th march

448 / 3,328 7th march

448 / 3,328 7th march

448 / 3,232 8th march

448 / 3,200 9TH MARCH

448 / 3,168 9TH MARCH

448 / 3,168 12th march

448 / 704 13th march 15:20
tried reebooting the router but get the same rate 448 / 704
noise margin on the line is around 10db this has not changed.

Has someone plugged something in without a filter.
If not it could be that a filter has gone bad

No nothing new plugged in
The filter is brand new only migrated to plusnet 2 weeks ago
will change the filter and watch to see if the sync rate comes back up.
If not then i will look at the router provided by plusnet next.

You could try a factory reset of the router, probably a button hidden in a hole at the back - needs an opened up paper-clip.

If you have anything you have entered that matters you could probably save the config first then restore it after, as the settings are unlikely to be the trouble.

I have just completed a speed test
and now getting the following,
350 Kbps
which is around 43.75 KB/s
including overheads
This is absolutely unusable as a broadband conection,
An not fit for purpose,
I have put a ticket in but nothing will be done about it till monday now,
I am disabled and need a stable connection and will be requesting my mac code on monday morning.What a shower plusnet are.

Has your telephone got a lot noisier?

Why not phone Plusnet.

Try a BT speed test. That would cut out Plusnets network.

Little point in migrating if you have a BT line fault.

I think that's a bit rash - and will definately not solve the apparent line fault you have, it will just follow you to your new provider.

What makes you feel so strongly that Plusnet are doing you wrong?

Your sync rate has nothing to do with PlusNet. The sync is between your router and exchange so that is what you need to check.

Your sync rate is due to the condition of your line and not ISP related - its seems like your line may have been problematic before and you moved from O2 due to slow sync speeds?
As mentioned by others, this type of problem will follow you from ISP to ISP.

Certainly worth a shot since iirc you said in the past that you urgently needed the PN router due to your current one being problematic?

Although you state that your SNR Margin hasnt changed.. the real SNR obviously will have and this is shown in you now getting lower sync speeds with the same SNR Margin.

Why are you rebooting your router daily or several times per day?
This isnt always good practice - do it too often and you could end up with a higher Target SNR, which will in turn lower your sync speed.

Leave your router alone and let the line settle to its own level... you should only really need to reboot your router if you have a bad sync.
