A SERVICE OPTION CHANGE ORDER IS IN PROGRESS ON THIS LINE

[link to this post]

Hi All

I did ask about this in my last post/thread but having done a search of the whole of TBB using the full phrase it does not seem to have been asked before???

So does anyone know what "A SERVICE OPTION CHANGE ORDER IS IN PROGRESS ON THIS LINE" this being under Service Option Status on the copied report in a Ticket Reply by CSC

For the record I have not made any requests for changes to my line other than can they please give me back the MaxDSL speed I used to enjoy !

Any insight as always would be very welcome

TIA

I have a feeling that this means that your line is being moved to the 21CN.

Well that will be a good trick because if samknows info is correct the following is shown for my Clandon exchange

BT Wholesale information
ADSL status: Enabled as of 03/06/2003
ADSL Max status: Enabled as of 30/03/2006
SDSL status: Not available
21CN WBC status: Not available
21CN PSTN switchover target: Q2 2010

No 21CN BB for this exchange is scheduled. But if 'they' know something I & samknows doesn't then to get 21CN speed potential realised does sound appealing although does that just open a new can of worms

???

It might be interleaf being turned on or off. That could be a service option.

I b*****y well hope not, my line is very stable and Interleave is turned off. I was told a long while ago that Interleaving works well (???) on unstable lines to smooth out erroring lines.

It's not.

There are three different service options (imaginatively named option 1, 2 and 3.

They offer varying aggressiveness of the DLM. It suggests that the DLM is being either reduced or increased in it's aggressiveness.

Anyway, I'm not really here, bye smile

Hi routefinder,

I've checked your line and can't see any issues, the profile updated to 4000 this morning with a recorded sync rate of 4544 which all looks correct.

I can't see any open orders but it does look like the line has been interleaved since at least October according to BTs records, do you want me to get that removed for you? I can't see any evidence of overly aggressive profiles on there though.

Hope that helps,

Hi Matthew

I did PM you with my username just to ensure we have not got wires crossed because if I could get that sort of profile and sync speed that would be really great after all this time and angst.

Suffice to say that my router/RouterStats is currently reporting a sync of 2336 Margin 14.1 & also as it has been for a very long time Interleave off i.e. not been on for way since before Oct09

TIA for PM reply or any other feedback?

smile

PS For the record there has been no update yet on the open ticket for this "question"???

PPS Meant to add that I did a BT Speed Test a short while ago:-
Sync 2336
IP Profile 2000
Speed of test 2840

Odd result surely with the measured speed in excess fo the IP and the sync speed??????

MY apologies - I was looking at a different account with the same name, you are indeed on the 2000 profile and interleaving is off. I'll get the latest on your fault and update shortly, sorry about that.
