help! Moving from waitrose to plusnet (well trying to)

Guys,

I'm getting conflicting info here from Plusnet.

On one hand no migration, no mac needed (as I expected)...it will just happen.
Then got a phone call today, loads of bank details etc needed and then 2 emails, asking for macs etc!!!!!
Just rang in to query and told, yes we need a mac even from Waitrose (isn't this just a realm change?).....Is this for real? I'm not confident about any of this now!

Help appreciated please!

Even though Plusnet run the VISP for Waitrose, technically, you are moving from one company to another. A MAC might be needed just to cover the legalities, even if it is only a modify on the realm at BT.

Actually, ignore that. Seems BT bought that out ages ago. Apologies.

I moved from Waitrose to Greenbee to Plusnet without the ned for a MAC. Kept my Waitrose email address each time too.

HI there, what needs to be done is to sign up a new plusnet account as if you were migrating, then once the account is created raise a ticket saying 'I am migrating to this account from [email protected] and then raise a ticket off the waitrose account saying 'I am migrating this account over to username@plusnet

So no MAC code needed.

We can then cross-reference both accounts and waive any broadband activation charge.

Jojo, I'm sure you're right, but this is all a result of a phonecall to plusnet CS last night and then a call back from them again today, so all my details were taken...the service ticket was brief to say the least "he wants to go to plusnet please deal" sort of thing. But it was Plusnet CS that now tell me I need a mac! How do I get around this...if they don't know, and they won't accept that I'm not really migrating in. Can someone from Plusnet intervene before this goes totaly pear-shaped....I've already got visions of getting direct debits from both parts of the same co. each month etc...

I suggest you PM Jojo with the name of the Waitrose account and the name of the account you've signed up with on Plusnet. I'm sure she'll then sort it all out.

PM sent with details of the (very brief) Waitrose ticket included.

Each time I moved I just did it with a phone call.

I seem to recall you saying it was easy Dennis....I'm up to 3 phonecalls so far, all 3 saying different things..doesn't inspire confidence. It's ironic but it'd be easier to go LLU, or so it would seem?
