Plusnet in trouble today?

After a good stable period my connection is up and down like a fiddlers elbow today. All DSL dropouts which strictly are not PN's immediate problem. PN website is inaccessible too so I can't check status.

Any idea what's going on?

PS: Just managed to see PN service status. Nothing that seems relevant to my problem.

www.plus.net is there for me, or do you mean the support pages within it?

We've had no reported problems and hosting of our website is entirely separate to our ADSL network.

If you see problems local to your service then please report this at http://faults.plus.net so that we can investigate further.

This is today's connections log from the modem. Not good. A couple of months ago BT Openreach sorted out some problems (bad master socket and bad DSLAM) after which everything went very stable with many days or even weeks between drops. Last few days have seen short drops almost every day. Today is definitely not good. Perhaps time to raise a ticket.

Yeah, looks like we definitely need to investigate this. Please report it at http://faults.plus.net and let us know if you don't make any progress.

Just looked at the modem log again and nothing has dropped since I last posted. I think I'll leave it another 24 hours and see. If it's stable I'll just put it down to bad luck, otheriwse I'll raise a ticket.

i have been having this problem since march
plusnet keep saying dropouts are not a problem
still have on going ticket with them
apparently if you get a few 2-3 days without dropouts it is fine !
even though i actually get it most days at least once
has only happened since BT upgraded local exchange to 21CN
not happy still PLUSNET

Please PM me your username so I can take a look at your connection logs and fault to make sure we get this one resolved asap.

If your connection consistently lasts 2-3 days without dropping then that would be deemed to be OK, but daily drops would not.

ADSL / ADSL2+ is designed to occasionally drop and reconnect as local noise conditions change. If it didn't do this then you'd be stuck with slower speed all of the time.
