I'm getting crazy with Plusnet, been with Be for long time, now moving offices where Be is not available, PlusNet has exact same equipment as Be - Thomson 585v7 routers, only in ASDL mode (up to 8 mbps) not in ADSL2+ like Be does. Not important..
Main problem - does anyone know how to set this device in Bridge mode (No-NAT)?
When I run Plusnet router It has 3 presets: "Plusnet", "Magadshafish", "Other", not sure which one to choose, whichever I choose it also asks for IP address for this router.
Got block of static IP addresses from them, when I ask techsupport - "can you help me to set it up?" - they all say "we are not trained to do that", why did you give me block of IPs? - "because you asked us to do so".
Someone told me to reflash it with Generic firmware 8.2.6.5 (not sure if i'm sorrect here), which I did, dont know where to get generic template now and what settings to use....
Where do I go from here?
Set up is this:
1 Thomson 585v7
1 Switch/or Hub 8 ports
5 PCs
all connected via ethernet cable
block of static IPs ready to be used on these PCs
Be's router has preset for bridge mode, they also give you all details, these guys don't for some reason.
I'm not very literate with computers but thought gateway is still neccessary for this.
Plusnet gives subnet mask 255.255.255.240
gateway they say use 192.168.1.254 (but this one is grey isnt it?)
got dns addresses - not a problem, but it's just not working.
Can someone please help? Thanks!
