Force9 Support Woes

[link to this post]

I have been with Force9 Premier for nearly 4 years now and have put up with all the terms and conditions changes and SUP changes over the last year or so. Although annoyed that they seem to be constantly moving the goalposts of the sup every week I have put up with this for the reason that my connection has been rock solid far the 4 years I have been with them. I've never had it go down.

That was until the dreaded maxdsl upgrade which I assume happened on Monday (yes 4 days ago) for me. My router would sync the adsl fine but did not pickup an IP from PN. So I thought, no problem Ill give the support number a bell. Well after several menu selections overt the phone I was asked to leave a message and a support bod would get back to me. WHAT??? This was not a good sign of things to come. The next day I forgot to take my mobile to works so left messages using there ticket system. After confirming my connection settings were OK then made me go through a ridiculous wizard to confirm what I had already told them. This was completed yesterday morning and now I wait having heard nothing for over 24 hours from any support member and my adsl having been ineffective for 4 days now.

Time to leave I feel. This customer service is appalling Does anyone know how to get support to speak to you or even speak to a human with PN?

Has Plusnet started doing IPStream Max regrades again? I did not know they had resummed them.

What you describe sounds more common for those who've being moved to an alternate network, i.e. are now on a LLU service. Did you get any emails talking about an alternate network supplier?

I only assumed it was a maxdsl regrade as my router is now syncing at up to 6Mbit rather than the usual 2Mbit. As far as I am aware my exchange has no LLU scheduled untill october and that is for Be. Certainly not PlusNet.

Either way I would be expecting a quicker response from PN to fix this.

It's certainly worth checking your closed tickets, or service notices,... or whatever they are called now. It should give you a clue as to what they did on Monday.

I cant see any announcement regarding work on Monday and the only relavant tickets are the ones I created regarding this problem. The last time an engineer responded was wednesday pointing me to a wizard. Not very helpfull Im sure you will agree.

I would at least like an engineer to contact me by phone as requested on my last ticket but its all silent at the moment.

Plusnet use Tiscali Wholesale for their LLU, though if your exchange has no LLU currently then it can only be Max.

PN are doing a few ad-hoc Max upgrades (a few have asked and been accepted on the PN forums). They have not restarted any mainstream upgrades or started using the bulk upgrade tool for Max upgrades, and there is no sign of it restarting anytime soon either (regardless of what the financial results stated).

Is the modem holding this 6Mbps sync speed - or resyncing a lot or showing lots of errors?

http://www.adslguide.org.uk/qanda.asp?faq=troubleshooting#Q132

If that test login works, then it shows the ADSL line is fine, but maybe some other configuration elsewhere, e.g. a non-payment due to various reasons has disabled the login automatically.

You'll find you are on Tiscali

Read carefully some of your tickets .. one of them will talk about moving to an alternate provider. its certainly doesnt stand out what they are doing.
