FYI: Get a free month from plusnet

Plusnet seem to now be offering free months of service if you try to cancel now. Worth trying, even if you want to stick around.

If the OP had held out a little longer he may have got two months free - If he had really held out; three - Experienced agents can give up to three months and don't really need to consult a 'superior' to do so. They will make a pretence of asking a superior, though more often than not they wil be chilling out for a few minutes with the customer on hold thinking the agent is asking a TL for permission...

They are told to play hardball to minimise the concession they are giving.

Unless he was a big user - if his usage was particulary high he would have been offered a mac code without argument and offered no concessions whatsoever.

I wouldn't class the user I discovered this from as particularly high, perhaps 10GB peaktime a month. Done via ticket, not phone, and didn't take any prodding whatsoever, just put 'want a mac code'.

3 months is particulary impressive and definitely worth pushing for, that's

In reply to:

I can't see them FUPing a static limit tbh.

*nod*

The FUP only applies to the so-called "unlimited" account IME.

Sorry think you got muddled there.

How do you know sky will be less restrictive then sky?

I presume you mean PlusNet?
