Technically definitely not. I'm sure people in the PUG forums were saying they had a tool to change SNR and interleaving settings, so they should be able to get rid of it.

I thought the tool couldn't affect interleaving and only does SNR.

erm, isn't the profile done in software not hardware? If so it is possible for the unbundled ISP to control interleaving or fast profile settings.

Pussnet are lying yet again.

My brief understanding of Tiscali LLU was that Interleaving was enabled and that the default 12dB SNR would be changable in due course. I can't remember reading anywhere that said Interleaving could be disabled on the LLU connnections.

Whether it is done in software or hardware, if Plusnet do not have an interface to change it, and/or Tiscali won't accept manual orders to change it, then in reality it is not possible to turn it off so Plusnet are not lying in this instance.

You can change the target SNR on your own kit if it supports it, but no.. apart from a few crude manual ways you cannot modify the target SNR that BTW thinks you should have.

It would seem that Tiscali do not want to turn off interleaving, though some other LLU providers will (Bulldog for one). Bulldog only use interleaving on the 16Mb (ADSL 2+) service but not the 8Mb in my experience.
