Look at my latest Speedtest

Its great isnt it!

Of course, I`d like to get to my ticket to answer the 30 or so questions plusnet asked me before they`d sort out my speed issues, but currently getting through the portal is like swimming through treacle.

I`m giving them to the end of the week to sort this, or I`m off. I cant take this unrealibility.

Has you connection been dropping? if the answer to that is no then what's so unreliable?. You're on MAX so you'll never see consistent speeds unless you are lucky and have a quiet exchange.

You have good ole local BT exchange contention i bet you!, it's easy to blame PN in their period of difficultly i suppose though. Run a BT speedtest and see wheather you get the same sub 1Mb speeds first before you go off on one next time buddy.

I just ran a test now http://www.adslguide.org.uk/tools/speedchart.asp?id=11568782079264948024 3.4Mb is okay(ish) for this time of night, not as good as the 6.5Mb i get later though

Footys, assuming you are still on IPStream, have you run a BT speedtest whilst logged on to the BT tester not Plusnet, when you get these poor speeds?
Since being upgraded to Max I no longer run speed tests but rely on real world downloading. Tonght my speeds are fine and I have been downloading from MS at around 4Mb.

Hi, after 9pm I have to reboot my router almost every 5 minutes or so, because it continuosly disconnects, hence the unrealibility. And I accept that the speeds can fluctuate but not to the point where webpages load up slower than dial up!!

I have been one of plusnets strongest supporters in the past, and it is rare that I go off on one as it were! This problem has been ongoing for a few weeks now.

I was rather annoyed earlier because I had some rather urgent banking to do online, and I couldnt even get to the homepage. When I tried the portal, that wouldnt load up either. Lately I would say that 50% of the time when I need to check something online, my connection has either dropped or is so slow its unusuable, and thats just not what I expect from an always on broadband connection.

Are you sure you haven't got a line fault?

The reason I ask is that you're describing exactley what happened to me about a month ago. BT came out and replace the cable from the pole to the BT box PLUS the box itself. Since then all has been rosy.

Pick up your telephone, dial 1 single number and listen. If there are any crackles, pops, loud static etc then it's a fair bet that you have a line issue.

Hope that helps

Oh how irritating! i hope you get it sorted soon, as someone has just suggested it sounds like a line fault. If i ever had any problems with my adsl service (which i never have) i'd feel peeved because of the long ticket and phone waiting times at the moment, but hang in there is my advice. Also if you haven't done already you should say about your issue on the official PN forum.
