Guys
Opened a ticket yesterday morning - 20181681 no sync light on my router and no sync with the DSLAM. No progress on the ticket as yet.......

Any chance of moving it on guys?

Thanks

Symptoms seem to indicate a exchange problem so looks like BT may have to get involved.

Have you checked that the router has not failed?

You get automatic free dial up if reporting a ADSL failure, so a post recently indicated, if you are not aware of that.

Just a tad sad..a wee bit old...

I think something about "it takes up to 3 days to do testing" was the last thing I heard from PlusNet when I'd raised a fault the last time. Has the "automated" fault checker come back with any findings (eg: pass, fail, inconclusive)?

Hi Chaps
Yes, they sent me thr FRIACO 0808 number to use whilst the BB is down. Nice idea and I would consider that a value add but jeeeezzzz - using a modem after 8mb is a little painful.

Yes, eliminated the router - went a borrowed a friends Netgear 834 and plugged into my socket. yesterday - filter and all.....it did not even sync so guess that eliminates my router as faulty.

I work in telecomms and this is clearly an issue at the BT Exchange so want Plus net to fault it our asap....they just dont seem to be in rush to do it which is rather frustrating.

I don't want to come across as harsh, but I think you should be grateful that Plusnet have decided to give you free dialup in the meantime whilst you have a fault. Not many other ISPs would do this - yeah it's slow but it's better than nothing at all and it's not costing you anything.

But I do understand the frustration of the fault not getting through to BT because PN have not acted on it yet.

Totally agree about the Freephone number - it's a great idea and I did not even know it existed ( as I have never had an outage like this)

Guess I will just sit and wait it out

Here is a post with some common sense:

In reply to:

Its not about the money! You have to connect first using the 0845 number and raise a non-connection fault.
Upon completion of the fault wizard, the free number should be automatically activated on your account.

In reply to:

which is just ridiculous

it should be enabled on all broadband account now

after all whos going to use dialup unless broadband has failed

Well..got a nice email from Plusnet support last night telling me that "due to a system error" my Broadband had been ceased !!

I am fuming !!!

It will not take 7 days to get it back on and they have offered me a free month of BB as settlement for the "unplanned outage"

This is digraceful, they cut me off - it'e their problem yet I have to wait until the end of next week to have my service reconnected.

Unfortunately the 7 days to reconnect is the time it takes the suppliers to activate the line again. It is possible it will be done sooner but there is no guarantees about this. Also it is better to provide a realistic timescale (7 days) than an optomistic one which is missed.

I have fingers crossed for you that the reconnection will be done quickly.
