The people you recommended should be told the state of play. Afterall, they joined PN on your recommendations so the least you should do IMO is warn them. Should they then choose to stay because they are happy with the service you can leave them to it without any guilt or responsibility on your part. You can still earn the referral fee even if you leave PN. As for LLU here is a lengthy post I submitted yesterday with steps needed.

I'm not sure if this has been covered elsewhere (so many threads, so little time...), but is it PN's responsibility to prove you received/read those emails, or yours to prove that you didn't? I can only assume, as they changed the service, it is their responsibility.

I ask, as if you dispute being notified, do you not need to prove whether or not you were notified? Prove that you were given opt out options?

I would think it`s PN`s responsibility to prove the emails were sent.

Don't they record copies of the emails in the tickets part of the user's account area?

Not sure, I`m not 100% certain if actual emails are/were sent. If they were I would suspect the sender would have to show proof of transmission of the actual email.

Possibly but how can you prove that the email logs are real and not something concocted up as "evidence"? This whole topic is a tough one to answer..

The ISP would have to prove that it was sent. The problem here is one of PN's clauses that forces a user to read/monitor PN's supplied email even when a customer doesn't use that email, never has and has no reason to but PN stipulate you must keep an eye on it. I stand by my assertion as per another thread that it is an unfair Term of the Ts&Cs especially if PN send others notices or marketing offers etc. to an external addy to the same customer but don't for LLU because it is clear that they have the capability and knowledge of that address.

Emails are also recorded in the ticket system as a copy.

Loss of Plusnet customers

[re: deke129] [link to this post]

Despite management promises, the quality and speed of the Customer Services response continues to get worse.

I predict Plusnet will have lost a quarter of its customer base by Christmas 2006.

I just don't know what's going on now. After telling me a few days ago that my broadband problems are in Tiscali's hands ("so it's nowt to do with me, matey") I get a message from PN today telling me that they're sorry to see me go but they will pass my request for a mac code to the relevant department. Is it too soon for me to start celebrating?!

Not only that, my broadband connection has come miraculously back to life today (after a period of 19 days with just 24 hrs of connection in the middle of last week). No explanations from PN, of course. No comments that they've found a problem and fixed it. Absolutely SFA except the promise (see above) to get me a mac code.

Will I get out before my sanity finally snaps? We'll see. Who's a good isp at the moment?
