BIG SPAM problem with [email protected]

My domain is currently being spamed to death, i'm receiving many 100's of e-mails per day. The main problem I have is plus.net just accept anything@mydomain and [email protected] and forward it the the default postmaster address. I don't want to accept everything I just want to use the mail boxes I have setup and my default postmaster address as a postmaster address not just a catch all bucket!

Can I do this? If not, why not?

Do your own filtering? Set up a rule to delete stuff downloaded from the default box which does not have the right address.

I use Outlook it dosen't allow rule to delete using a NOT rule. I can't change from Outlook as I connect to a exchange server also.

I don't know how good it is but you could try SpamAware..

That will fix it for you ... of course, this means you have to raise a question, so by the time support get to read it, you'd have had 1Million messages and the spammers have probably stopped

I have a problem where the spammers are using random numbers/letters in front of the @ sign, meaning I get 1000s of returned e-mails in my default mailbox...

I am using Outlook - I have set up email accounts for each of the mailboxes I use (that is both in Outlook and in the Member Centre). I don't download the default - just look at it from time to time on werbmail and then delete all...

Do it the other way round.

Make a rule to delete everything coming to a certain account.

Then use exceptions to email addresses you want to let through.

Didn't think you could do that for the default account..

Ask Support to blackhole the catch all account for you.

Then configure the accounts you actually need - dont forget that if you have a domain, you need to have a postmaster@ and abuse@ box (or at least a re-direct to a mailbox that is in use)

They did this for me after I started to suffer the same thing at the hand of someone mallicious posting and signing up for very dodgy stuff with my email domain.
