Cancel!!

[link to this post]

Hi,
How do I go about cancelling my broadband and move to NTL?
Do I still need a mac code?
How much will it cost to cancel, I have been with PlusNet since June 2005.
Been trying to phone them this morning but no luck.
Thanks.

Hi,
If you are going to cable you don't need a MAC code.

To have to give PN 30 days notice, and what you pay will depend on
if you paid the full set-up price or had it delayed.

"raise a ticket" with PN asking for to cancel, do it today, as that will be the start of the 30 days.

Unless you took the "You stay we Pay" option which deferred your connection fee and modem cost, you should be able to leave without penalty as long as you give 30 days notice. If you are in any doubt, ask PlusNet for confirmation of this.

You need to raise a ticket asking PlusNet to CEASE your service 30 days after the ticket date. Since there is no interaction between your BT Line and Cable service, you should be able to get your NTL service connected as soon as you like after you get confirmation of the cease from PlusNet.

Surely as the two connection methods are independant the OP should be able to connect to NTL before ceasing the PlusNet line thereby guaranteeing no loss in connection. He will obviously be paying 2 providors during the overlap in that case.

Agreed no need to wait, if you want to pay twice.
